New Full Service National Venue Booking Agency Launches
Top industry Australian bookers, join forces to create new venue booking agency named Social State Entertainment
Industry figures James Power and Jesse Barbera have teamed up to form a full-service national venue booking agency, which will serve as the main point of call for artists, managers, agents and bands. The main idea behind the formation of the company is to provide high-quality service and knowledge that will drive both revenue and attendance for venue and artist whilst creating a better live event experience for the patron.
Power explains “It’s clear there is a gap to fill for strategic marketing support and a need for a cleaner, more streamlined administration process for all sizes of shows and venues. Under the new arrangement, our agents will have more time to book acts, and there will be an increase in the speed and quality of administration support.”
Both founders bring a wealth of experience to their already burgeoining portfolios and will inject a further boost into the live music scene. Babera serves as the founder and Managing Director of The Fans Group (Black Bear Lounge, The Brightside, The Lucky Egg), while Power has over 20 years of experience in the Australian Music Industry, and is currently the live Content Director for the Prince Ballroom, Prince Public Bar and Melbourne Pub Group.
The duo aims to provide a similar streamlined service for touring agents and bands who are looking to book national tours through the same agency. Power added that Social State Entertainment would also help bands book gigs more efficiently, adding that “it’s better for the bands, it's better for the venue owners, and it's better for the punter."
Amongst the venues that Social State Entertainment will be agents for are include the following:
Black Bear Lodge, Brisbane
Cantina, St. Kilda
El Grotto, Scarborough
The Grand LIVE, Mornington
Hobart City Hall (by special arrangement with Gone South)
