Mark Morton’s ferocious riffs and intricate solos ignite the stage as a driving force behind Lamb of God, one of the leading bands in the new wave of American heavy metal. Renowned for his commanding rhythm work and technically refined, yet melodic lead playing, Mark blends metal, thrash, and blues influences to create grooves that energize the most intense crowds.

That same fearless approach is embodied in the new Mark Morton Les Paul Modern Quilt. This signature model boasts a stunning AAA quilted maple top paired with a mahogany body featuring Ultra Modern weight relief for exceptional comfort during long performances. Its mahogany neck sports a SlimTaper™ profile and a Modern Contoured Heel for effortless upper-fret access. The ebony fingerboard offers a compound radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, and elegant mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays.

Driving its tone are two Mark Morton signature humbucker™ pickups, meticulously crafted by the Gibson Pickup Shop to capture Mark’s distinctive sound. The rhythm pickup uses moderate, Patent Applied For-style windings with a ceramic magnet for clarity and punch, while the lead pickup delivers higher output windings and a ceramic magnet for added presence and power. Both are wired to a three-way selector and individual volume and tone controls, with Orange Drop® capacitors enhancing tonal precision.

Finished in smooth satin nitrocellulose lacquer, the Translucent Ebony Burst Satin finish accentuates the AAA quilted maple top and is complemented by chrome hardware details, including Grover® Rotomatic® locking tuners with Keystone buttons, a chrome jack plate, black rings with chrome trim, and chrome pickup covers. A truss rod cover bearing Mark’s signature, a set of his Stringjoy® strings, and a Gibson Accessory Kit are included in the Modern hardshell case.
